Euro-Par’22 Covid-19 Guidelines (for In-Person Participants)

Before the event

  • We recommend attending EuroPar’22 fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including having received a booster.
  • We ask participants displaying potential COVID-19 symptoms not to attend in-person. We also ask participants who have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19 in the 14 days before the conference, not to attend in-person.
  • We ask participants to take a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) before coming to the conference. It would be best to do so shortly before coming to the conference venue. We encourage participants to test themselves daily while attending the conference.
  • Please note that wearing a mask indoors in public places and on public transport is recommended, yet no longer a legal requirement in Scotland. Moreover, wearing masks is no longer required at the University. Hence, expect to share, for instance, the subway and University buildings with people who are not wearing masks.

During the event

  • We aim to provide all participants with lateral flow tests and FFP2 masks as part of our conference delegate packs upon registration. Note that LFTs and masks can also be purchased from most major supermarkets and pharmacies in Scotland.
  • We ask participants to wear masks indoors (except when actively eating or drinking), especially in the seminar rooms and lecture theatres. If possible, this should be an FFP2/FFP3/N-95/KN-95 mask. Please also note that masks should fully cover the nose, mouth, and chin
  • We will have more lateral flow tests and FFP2 masks at the registration desk available for participants in need.
  • The conference and workshop drinks, snacks, and lunches will be served in disposable containers, which can be taken outside (if there is a preference to not eat indoors in a shared space with other participants). This unfortunately does not apply to the Drinks Reception and Banquet Dinner.
  • Social distancing should be respected throughout the event. We ask participants to refrain from handshakes and hugs (unless there is an explicit invitation). We also ask participants to respect the requests of other participants regarding their comfort level around social distancing.
  • Note that unfortunately not all rooms at the University are equipped with automatic ventilation, though we will make sure ventilation is activated where and as much as possible.

What to do if you develop COVID-19 symptoms

After the event

  • We ask participants, who attended the event in-person and then tested positive for COVID-19 shortly afterwards, to please inform the participants they were in close contact with (e.g. sharing a table at lunch or dinner without masks), as far as possible.
